Meet the Founders

Behavioral science meets championship coaching.

BASE Performance Technologies was co-founded by Dr. Odell Vining and Coach Evan Isaacs around a shared conviction: the behavioral factors beneath athletic performance should not remain invisible.

Focus, confidence, resilience, discipline, emotional regulation, and follow-through all influence how athletes prepare, respond, and perform. Yet these factors are often evaluated through observation alone or addressed through isolated conversations that are difficult to measure over time.

BASE brings behavioral science and real-world coaching experience together in one structured system—helping teams assess performance-related patterns, interpret what matters, apply focused interventions, and monitor development over time.

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Odell Vining

Behavioral Psychologist, Published Researcher, and Author

Dr. Odell Vining is a behavioral psychologist with 30 years of professional experience applying behavioral science to assessment, intervention, human performance, and measurable behavioral change.

He has published multiple articles in professional peer-reviewed journals, authored and co-authored two books, and delivered presentations at national and regional professional conferences. His work reflects extensive experience in behavioral measurement, psychometrics, intervention science, data-based decision-making, and the responsible interpretation of human-performance information.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vining has focused on a practical question: How can meaningful behavior be measured accurately and changed responsibly?

Within BASE, he leads the scientific and behavioral framework, assessment development, measurement standards, intervention strategy, research direction, and overall product vision. His goal is to give coaches a scientifically grounded way to identify important behavioral patterns, respond with greater precision, and measure whether their efforts are producing meaningful improvement.

Coach Evan Isaacs

Co-Founder

Coach Evan Isaacs

Three-Time National Championship-Winning Collegiate Coach

Coach Evan Isaacs brings nearly three decades of collegiate coaching, leadership, and athlete-development experience to BASE.

As the head men's and women's tennis coach at Columbus State University, Coach Isaacs has developed both programs into perennial conference, regional, and national contenders.

Under his leadership, the Columbus State men have captured three national team championships:

  • The 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis National Championship
  • The 2020 ITA Division II Men's National Team Indoor Championship
  • The 2021 ITA Division II Men's National Team Indoor Championship

His teams have also earned five national runner-up finishes and numerous NCAA semifinal appearances. Coach Isaacs has developed more than 50 All-Americans, more than 100 All-Conference selections, 11 Peach Belt Conference Players of the Year, and seven Peach Belt Conference Freshmen of the Year. He has received national, regional, and conference Coach of the Year recognition.

A former Columbus State student-athlete and graduate assistant coach, Coach Isaacs understands athlete development from both sides of the coach-athlete relationship. His experience encompasses recruiting, program culture, performance pressure, accountability, team leadership, and the daily challenge of making consequential coaching decisions with incomplete information.

Within BASE, Coach Isaacs ensures that the platform remains grounded in coaching reality. He helps translate behavioral information into practical tools and recommendations that coaches can understand, apply, and monitor throughout an actual competitive season.
